Christine Banning, MA, CAE
President, National Parking Association
Christine Banning is responsible for implementing NPA’s strategic plan and vision on behalf of the NPA Board of Directors and its members. She is charged with setting research, professional development and advocacy agendas, and expanding NPA outreach throughout North America.
Since Banning joined NPA, the organization's membership has grown 60 percent. In that time, the organization launched a series of historical firsts—its first industry market study, industry buying power survey, issue alerts program, and an annual Fair Tax Policy Forum.
Banning is an experienced nonprofit executive with a proven track record of enhancing member and customer value, innovating through technology, and increasing organizational success. She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She is also a member of the Florida Parking Association and Women in Parking.
Previously, Banning served as a vice president with SCORE, a small business association. During her tenure, the association won ASAE’s highest honor, the Summit Award, as well as the USA Freedom Corp Award. Earlier, she held management and marketing roles in the private sector.
Banning is a charter member and served on American Airlines’ Advisory Council on Women's Business Segment Strategy and on its Corporate Advisory Council—Consumer Segments. She also served on the National Advisory Council for the Women's Leadership Exchange and the Center for the Arts Bonita Springs Corporate Advisory Council. In 2012, she completed her term on the Board of Directors of Dress for Success, where she chaired the nominating committee. She is a member of the International Women's Forum, Public Relations Society of America and International Association of Business Communicators, where she holds the ABC certification. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Marietta College and a master’s degree from American University.
