Washington, DC (September 25, 2025) — The National Parking Association (NPA) releases the Parking Pulse Report analyzing a broad range of findings from its 2026 parking industry sentiment study, which was sponsored by Metropolis. This flagship research for the parking industry signals optimism and conveys multiple confidence metrics related to growth and the economy in 2026.

Overall, 82% of the parking industry is optimistic about the future, with strong expectations of location and revenue growth in 2026. Majority of parking industry expects 10% plus growth in the new year.

Developed as a coordinated effort between the Department of Transportation, Department of Finance, and City Council ensured political endorsement, operational efficiency, and public transparency for the program.

The program is on track to cover implementation costs in the first year. As of March 31, 2025, the program issued more than 13,500 total warnings and violations with 1,620 total violations. It also identified violation hot spots to improve resource management.

The new, ten-tier, phase two parking structure at San Francisco’s Kilroy Oyster Point by Clark Pacific, ensures resilience to seismic activity with a balance of style and innovation.

With nearly 2,000 parking spaces including EV stalls with EH1-rated systems, the structure incorporates an efficient PARCS system, reversible lanes, and dynamic LED signage. Multiple vehicle access points across three levels help mitigate street queuing and delays when entering or exiting the facility.

The installation also features a perforated metal screen covering, as well as Clark Pacific’s precast Hybrid Moment Frame, an advanced seismic lateral system, a feature that helped the project earn a Platinum rating from the U.S. Resiliency Council.

Prefabrication construction enabled the project’s early completion, which accelerated leasing revenue and cut expenses for substantial client benefit.

This first-of-its-kind research for the parking industry signals optimism and conveys multiple confidence metrics related to growth and the economy in 2025.

Overall, 83% of the parking industry is optimistic about the future, with strong expectations of location and revenue growth in 2025.

Washington, DC (September 23, 2024) — The National Parking Association (NPA) announced the winners of its 2024 Innovation Awards at the 2024 NPA Convention & Expo held in Las Vegas.

“The NPA Innovation Awards recognize companies and individuals who demonstrate the highest professionalism and leadership while using parking best practices and state-of-the-art technology to improve safety, sustainability, and bottom-line results,” says NPA President & CEO Christine Banning, IOM, CAE.

Fednet Revolte (Fed), the City of Tampa's Parking Division Manager created a frictionless parking model that drives revenue and sustainability for the city.

His comprehensive strategy grew city revenue from $19 million in FY19 to $25 million in FY21, with a projected revenue of $39 million for FY24.

Fed installed the first multi-app payment platform in the State of Florida, increasing the city’s mobile payment transactions from 41% in 2021 to 79% in 2023.

He implemented an upgrade to the PARCS in city garages, including converting three to frictionless parking, which boosted sustainability and customer satisfaction.

Fed also expanded operations to six new districts within the city, engaged in public/private partnerships with key community stakeholders, and increased operational staffing from 63 to 84 individuals.

Capitalizing on the opportunity to enhance digital navigation, Flash and Google built the industry’s first transaction integration for drivers to search for – and book – parking directly through Google Search, Google Maps, and Waze.

Flash’s APIs provide real-time updates to ensure descriptive metadata is current, pricing is accurate, and price quotes reflect inventory.

INNOVATIVE FACILITY OF THE YEAR

The City of Tampa’s upgrade in 2021 to a frictionless parking facility, as well as a multi-app payment system, has driven a 172% revenue increase at the city’s high-volume Tampa Convention Center Garage.

The revenue enables ongoing resources for structural improvements and enhanced safety measures.

INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABILITY PROJECT OF THE YEAR

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) – Dublin/Pleasanton Station | McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.

Parking demand at the commuter train Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Dublin Station, created a need for a new municipal parking structure. The City of Dublin sought a conversion-ready parking building to revitalize the Bay Area and promote transit ridership, as well as balance sustainability, technology, and artistry to meet multiple stakeholder’s goals.

The resulting facility demonstrated a successful partnership between the city and the County of Alameda, Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority, and County Arts Commission.

Honored as outstanding parking leaders, the winners exemplify dedication to advancing women in leadership, fostering inclusion, and demonstrating a commitment to diversity and employee development.

The WIP IMPACT Award was presented at the annual NPA Convention & Expo, held this year in Las Vegas. The award’s global design symbolizes the great strides the parking industry is taking to create stellar career opportunities and make a difference in the lives of women parking professionals.

Marcy Sparrow

Marcy Sparrow, Business Development Manager, Metropolis

Marcy Sparrow joined Metropolis as business development manager, bringing 19 years of parking industry experience. She is responsible for managing the RFP team and intake process, as well as overseeing Metropolis’s commercial tradeshow logistics.

As a founding member of WOMEN IN PARKING (WIP), Sparrow continues to serve on the WIP Steering Team with the WIP Advisory Council, where she remains committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry.

NPA President & CEO Christine Banning, IOM, CAE, says, “Marcy is an inspiring example of long-term dedication to WIP and the parking industry. She offers insightful solutions to foster inclusion and networking, strengthening the industry and helping women advance and grow.”

Tammy Baker has 30 years of experience and a proven track record in process improvement, team building, systems, change management, training, and inventory control.

As COO, Baker embodies leadership through the development of team members, helping them learn not only how to excel in their own jobs but also to serve as change agents. She developed a diverse team and fostered an inclusive culture to ensure that everyone feels valued and respected.

Farrah Davis

Farrah Davis, Director of Revenue Operations, Flash

Farrah Davis is a seasoned sales and operations executive overseeing productivity, data analytics, and revenue to ensure optimal efficiencies for revenue generation and client satisfaction.

At Flash, she spearheaded the initiative to create a platform for women’s representation, inclusion, support, and elevation (RISE). The company’s employee resource group (ERG) has significantly boosted employee advancement. RISE empowers Flash team members through access to networking, professional development, and talent retention opportunities.
