We are a community of public and private parking professionals—an industry that spans parking, mobility and transportation. NPA has requested White House and Congressional support for a parking industry stimulus package. Parking is a critical part of the nation's infrastructure and a recovery requires all of us from front line workers to leaders and our organizations. URGENT ACTION The parking industry is a vital part of the nation’s infrastructure in moving, goods, services and people throughout the economy. The parking industry is a $131 Billion industry with 581,000 employees. More than 1 million jobs depend on parking across, public, private professionals and industry suppliers. NPA has commissioned Ernst & Young for an Economic Impact Study. These are the 1st findings and we need to apply them right now in this industry request for a stimulus package. NPA has written the President, Speaker Pelosi, Senate Republican Leader McConnell and other key Congressional leaders today to submit our request formally. They need to hear from other Members of Congress that this request is a priority. That will give us our best chance to receive some relief measures aimed at the parking industry. Dear Senator/Congressman/woman (customize with name): The parking industry is a lifeline as part of essential transportation infrastructure. With up to 80% losses in parking volume, much like airlines and airports—the industry is devastated by a collapse in demand and job losses and furloughs for 50% of the industry’s workforce. Parking is a $131 Billion industry with 581,000 direct employees—many are front line hourly workers. We need your help. Please support the $5 Billion stimulus infusion request by the National Parking Association for the parking industry. Declare parking essential infrastructure and help safeguard workers' pay and safeguard businesses against bankruptcy, lease and loan defaults. We request a combination of grants and loans to ensure that parking can survive to help our communities in the recovery.
We need real world data on what’s happening in your operation. This will help us get White House and Congressional support. Public, private, commercial, valet, hospital, university, airport, off airport, suppliers—we are in this together. NPA stands for you. Take the Survey >
