PII has awarded more than $1 Million in scholarships. Scholarship funds are available for undergraduate studies only.

Am I eligible to apply?

Those eligible to apply are/will be graduates of public and private secondary schools who are:

  • A son, daughter or spouse of a full-time employee of a firm, which is a member of the National Parking Association. The parent or spouse must have been employed at least three years as of January 1st of the year the applicant is applying for a scholarship.
  • A full-time or part-time employee of a firm which is a member of the National Parking Association. The employee must have been employed for at least one year as of January 1st of the year he or she is applying for a scholarship.

 
How much will be awarded?

Scholarships range up to $3,500 per year. Awards are for one year only, but applicants may re-apply. Scholarship funds are available for undergraduate studies only.

What is the basis for selection?

Selection will be made by the Board of Trustees on the basis of merits, scholastic and extracurricular achievement, charter, meritorious service and application criteria such as transcripts, recommendations, etc.

When will winners be notified?

Upon review by the Scholarship Committee, scholarship selections will be made and all candidates will be notified by summer of each year. Selected scholarship recipients will receive both their award letter and full scholarship award check at that time.

In order to be eligible for a scholarship, one’s company must be an NPA member firm. Only full or part-time employees of NPA member firms, their spouses, and their dependents are eligible for scholarships. Employees must have been employed for at least one year from January 1 of the year they are applying; Spouses and dependents are eligible for a scholarship if the parent or spouse has been employed for at least three years from January 1 of the year they are applying.

To be considered for scholarship aid, three complete recommendation/appraisal forms are required. Two of these should be from a high school teacher or college instructor who is familiar with your academic work, while the third should be from someone knowledgeable about your extracurricular, athletic, or employment activities.
